New Property

On June 28 we made it to settlement and are now the proud owners of yet another mortgage. We still plan to wait a few years before starting any real action for building our home here....but we're excited and starting to plan.

On May 27 we signed a contract for a 7 acre piece of property up in the Croom area. This is about 5 minutes North of our current house very near the Safeway in Croom. The land, which we intend to someday build our dream home, is located off Sasscer Lane which is a private road that runs through a farm.

This is a view from the "top" of the property. I'm standing just off Sasscer Lane (below).  At the far end where the woods begins, the property line goes back about 50' into the woods.	Looking back up the field to where I was standing off Sasscer Lane, the field runs about 50' across to where the woods start.
	Most of these pictures were taken in early Spring just as the leaves were coming out and light was still getting through the tree canopy within the property.
This is looking south towards the other homes on the farm.
Through thick and thin Crystal trudges along as we checked out the property.	Along the back of the property are some really magnificent trees. Crystal and I could touch hands around this beech tree which splits into two trunks.
I'm standing down in what used to be a pond to feed cattle. Mostly dried up now but there seems to be a slow trickle of water still present from a spring. Crystal stands up where we think the house would go.	This is looking across that old pond to the same location of where we think the house will go.   Below is a shot from the house site across the wooded area of the lot. This would be the view from the back yard.
