Week 13 was our first appointment with an Obstetrician. We went in
hoping they would listen for the baby's heartbeat. But we were surprised when they
wanted to do a sonogram. These pictures are not as clear as some of the others but they
look great to us. The baby measures about 8 cm head to rump. The head with is about 2.5 cm.
What all this means is that the baby is developing appropriately. These
measurements correspond with a 13 week old baby.
Comparing our sonogram to the photograph looks like our baby is right on target.
We can't distinguish the sex of the baby from this sonogram,
but maybe the next one will give us a clue. A lot of things happen during the fourth
month.
We are just ecstatic that we have made it through our first trimester. Now we can
tell the world
"We're Having a Baby!!!"
